Last month, we were to LA for a week and met Megan, animator from JIBJAB. She was working on a stop motion animated e-card at that time and we witnessed her sculpting the chocolate bunny, filming and making it alive. Checkout the Screaming bunny video here. We’ve asked few questions to Megan and the response was solid.

1. What is your favourite thing about Jibjab studio?
The variety of projects I have the opportunity to work on – different animation styles, film, e-cards and educational videos.
2. Where’s your creativity come from?
My experiences. Travelling & interacting with people.
3. What turns you on?
Engaging people. Making people laugh. Thinking up a really solid concept then finding the best solution to reach the user.
4. No.1 tip to overcome work stress/ downtime?
Taking time out from a project if it is frustrating you. No point in sweating & stressing over something if you are not getting anywhere – better to take a time out and come back to it with fresh eyes.
If I’m having a hard work week, I try to make time to chill out and do something creative just for myself that has nothing to do with work. I think it’s important to have creative output that is solely for your own enjoyment to remind yourself of why you like making stuff without any work pressure. At the moment, I personally like making little things out of sculpey clay…but hey, whatever floats your boat.
5. Do you think you have a brand or do you match your work with Jibjab brand?
I do have a visual style that is luckily suited to what we produce at JibJab. I do a lot of concept  & story boarding at JibJab, so my voice & sense of humour is present in that work. Of course, when coming up with a concept the audience and JibJab’s brand of humour has to be considered.
6. What is your favourite brands to wear?
I tend to buy from thrift stores or Etsy but I am a big fan of Black Milk tights.
7. What is the studio’s next top secret?

We have some really exciting new content and development for our Storybots brand on the horizon! I would keep an eye on that!
